SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 13, 2011 — Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) introduced today its new field layout software suite that includes Trimble® Field Link for MEP and Trimble Field Link for Structures. The latest additions to Trimble’s field layout portfolio incorporate a version for MEP trades and a version for steel and concrete contractors distinguished by trade-specific feature sets. Using the ruggedized 7 inch touch-screen Trimble Tablet Rugged PC, Trimble Field Link can dramatically improve the productivity of field personnel performing lay out by providing more information readily at their fingertips.

Professional Land Surveyor News: Leica XPro 4.3 – HiRes Ortho Processing Reduces Flight Lines and Increases Productivity

Today, Leica Geosystems announced that their leading line sensor workflow, the Leica XPro, has been updated with new features.  Leica XPro  4.3 – HiRes Ortho Processing provides advanced ground processing from data download to image generation and users of the new version XPro 4.3 can now take advantage of the Leica HiRes orthophoto processing. Leica says that this will increases orthophoto productivity by reducing the number of flight lines.

There is an update available for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 from Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D & AutoCAD Civil Services & Support.

This update and Hotfix is for users who installed AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 Update 2 and then open a previous version of Civil 3D which contains an alignment with a spiral curve.

The Hotfix corrects the alignment geometry where as before installing the Hotfix you may have seen a change in the alignment upon opening your AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 drawing.
