I created this C3D Surface Essential Template Framework (2011) as an entry point to use AutoCAD Civil 3D for creating Surfaces, in response to many who were having difficulties with this functionality. At its most basic level, you can simply import/insert/create points in a drawing created from the template, and those points will create the pre-setup surface.
