Hi-tech surveying equipment is to brought in to help assess the threat of land slips at Waihi Village at Lake Taupo.

“Data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed that the number of home loan approvals rose a seasonally adjusted 3.5% month-on-month in January, representing the fourth month of increase. Total loans issued were 55,628. First-time home buyers made 26.5% of the total home loans issued in January, the highest percentage since statistics began in 1991.”

“The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand said the number of homes sold increased to a 12-month high of 5,228 in February from a record low of 3,706 in January. However, sales were still lower than the 6,356 new homes sold in February last year.”
