New Mexico Latest State DOT in U.S. to Transition to Autodesk BIM for Infrastructure Solutions

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK), the leader in cloud-based design and engineering software, announced that the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is the latest state DOT in the U.S. to expand their use of Autodesk software to include Autodesk Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions for road and highway design projects statewide.

“We are looking forward to implementing the Autodesk solutions,” said Alvin Dominguez, P.E., NMDOT Cabinet Secretary. “The New Mexico Department of Transportation expects to pay for the software within two years of full implementation through cost savings realized in the reduction of change orders. In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 Service Pack 1, which fixes or addresses a variety of issues discovered by customers and by Autodesk’s internal testing team.

This Service Pack includes all previous hotfixes for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. It also includes the fixes included in AutoCAD 2013 Service Pack 1.1 and AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 Service Pack 1.

Note: This update applies to all language versions and to versions of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 with previous hotfixes applied.

Before applying this update, make sure that any customizations made to the user profile (such as, customizations made to the support file search paths, print file customizations, printer support file paths, redirections, custom template settings, and so on) are exported to a secure location, then imported and reapplied after the update has been successfully installed.

You cannot run an automatic uninstall to remove this update. To restore your version of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 to its pre-update state, uninstall AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 and reinstall it.

COLORADO – Merrick & Company won first place in the civil/survey category of the “High Definition Surveying (HDS) Plan” contest, hosted by Leica Geosystems.  The annual event is part of a worldwide conference, Hexagon 2012. The awards program allows Leica HDS/laser scanning users to submit posters with laser scanning deliverables in one of three categories, including buildings/heritage, civil/survey, and plant/marine. Winners were judged on completeness of plan, creative use of point cloud, creative use of model, and overall appearance.
