Plantation Acres : An Historical Study of the Irish Land Surveyor and His Maps

Plantation Acres: An Historical Study of the Irish Land Surveyors and His Maps (The U.H.F. historical series) ANDREWS, J. H. (1985).The U.H.F. historical series, 8. [Belfast], Ulster Historical Foundation.

Covering the years 1550 - 1700 this book by John Harwood Andrews, considered "the doyen of Irish cartographic historians", provides a historical study of the Irish Land Surveyors, which could be an interesting perspective for those of us that retrace surveys in the "colonies" possibly made from the historical Irish Land Surveyors and mappers covered in this book.
