@ericcolburn How would you insert a symbol in civil 3d and have the line masked under the symbol so you can see the symbol without lines going through it but still have the label be auto updating

First, welcome to the site! Then to your question, hmmmm? While it would seem to be an easy enough feature to include in Civil 3D, I don’t think that you can do this? I have a pretty good idea why you want to mask the lines under the point symbols, but I’d be interested to hear from you why?
You’ve got me thinking about a few possible work-arounds, but so far, nothing very elegant.

That’s what I thought. I’ve never setup my plans to work that way. Do you know how Land Desktop made that work? Like I said, I’m looking into workarounds, but you would think that if Land Desktop could do it, then Civil 3D should be able to do it too???
the way we were doing it in land desktop was disassociateing the label then trimming the line but i was trying to have to do that anymore
