Land Surveyor Danny Cahill Wins The NBC Show The Biggest Loser

Last night, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma land surveyor and musician, Danny Cahill won the NBC Show “The Biggest Loser”, earning him a $250,000 prize. At the beginning of Season 8 he weighed in at 430 pounds and showed a great deal of determination and focus with seven straight weeks of double digit weight loss!

Danny has said that he has struggled for most of his life with his weight. Being a coach of his son’s football team, he was looking to be more active and do more with his son and the team. If you’ve watched “The Biggest Loser” this year you’ve also heard him express his concerns for being a better father and husband, too. Mission accomplished, Danny!

In losing a total of 239 pounds, or 55.58% of his body weight, in only seven months Danny was able to beat out all of the other contestants on the show, taking the top prize and becoming the Season 8 “Biggest Loser”. Well, Danny Cahill may be less than half the man he used to be, he is, however, an inspiration to everyone!

In a telling line in his “Biggest Loser” Bio, Danny says, “taking care of himself has always come second to taking care of everyone else”. While no one would suggest that you should become a self centered narcissist, it is an absolute fact that if you don’t take care of yourself you will not be able to take care of those who are important to you.

I think that the take away message is that it takes hard work and resolve to overcome bad habits, but it can be done (the man lost 239 LBS for crying out loud! If he can do this, you can tackle your problems) with some motivation (being a better father and husband, for example) and some investment in yourself.
