Javad Ashjaee, GPS Pioneer and JAVAD Founder, Admits to GPS Design Flaws
The LightSquared verses GPS battle, which has transcended the technical battlefield spilling over into the Presidential political front lines, has recently led to disturbing revelations.
Most significant, Javad Ashjaee, GPS pioneer, JAVAD founder and CEO, admitted to GPS manufacturers' design flaws. In this startling admission published on JAVAD's website, Ashjaee writes:
"The root of the problem is us, the GPS manufacturers. We designed our receivers without paying reasonable attention to other systems that may come close to the GPS bands."
Professional Land Surveyor Source: LightSquared is a Gem!
And, after outing the GPS manufacturing industry for designing and selling possible faulty designed GPS receiver units, including his own GPS equipment designed and built by JAVAD, Ashjaee goes on to offer a solution (insert sarcasm here).
What's JAVAD's solution?
So you might ask, what is JAVAD's solution to this problem? Is it that JAVAD and other GPS manufacturers should recall and repair their GPS receivers and fix them for free?
I don't know what the position is of other GPS manufacturers, but the solution JAVAD proposes is that they will fix the problem they created - Oh, and by the way, it will only cost you $300 to $800, depending on the JAVAD model. JAVAD doesn't specify what it will charge you to fix other companies GPS receivers.
Is this really a solution? It sure sounds like a nice monetary solution for JAVAD!
How Do You feel About Having To Pay To Fix Your GPS Equipment?
LightSquared said they will pick up the tab to repair government-owned GPS equipment, but they conspicuously omitted picking up the cost of fixing private sector GPS units, like those used by professional land surveyors.

Leave a comment on what you think about having to pay to fix your GPS due to GPS manufacturers faulty design, according to Javad Ashjaee's recent admission.
