AutoCAD Civil 3D 911: How can I edit multiple points at one time in AutoCAD Civil 3D?

Dan had inserted a point file in AutoCAD Civil 3D with point descriptions not setup correctly for his company’s current point naming standards. Because of this, his company’s Civil 3D drawing templates and setup of their Description Key File, Point Styles, Point Label Styles and Point Groups. He tried manually editing the point descriptions but found the process slow, subject to input error and frustrating.

Luckily, there is a way to edit multiple points all at once in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Watch the video and learn more.

I Will Be Neither An AutoCAD Civil 3D Cheerleader Or Apologist

On a regular basis, I’m either presented with the opportunity to talk with you about AutoCAD Civil 3D or I’m motivated to share with you some AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge or information. My focus on AutoCAD Civil 3D, more than the other available land surveying/CAD software packages, might lead you to believe that I think that Civil 3D is the best or only software that you should use. Nothing could be further from the truth, as I’m neither an AutoCAD Civil 3D cheerleader or apologist.

Listen, like many of you, I paid for and use AutoCAD Civil 3D in my professional land surveying practice. Therefore, it’s what I know. And, because so many of you also use AutoCAD Civil 3D, the need for learning how to use this specific software package is a void I happily like to fill.

But, I do not for one minute think that Civil 3D is the only tool you can use, or should choose to use! Which land surveying or design software is right for you or your business is an important decision. Get that decision right, and you or your company will excel and flourish. Make the wrong choice, however, and your selected software will bury you in added cost and inefficiencies.

AutoCAD Civil 3D 911: Myth Busting, Proving That You Can Inverse Points In AutoCAD Civil 3D!

This is a response to several online discussions on this topic, and not a question from one person.

I’ve read many web discussions by land surveyors arguing whether AutoCAD Civil 3D is a good surveying tool or not. One example, or myth, that is often stated, is that AutoCAD Civil 3D can’t even inverse between points.
