The output of local grid coordinates allows Leica Zeno GIS users who have installed a 3rd party GIS application to benefit from Leica Geosystems’ high-precision projection and transformation engines. This major enhancement ensures that the mobile application uses reliable GNSS data to deliver highly accurate positions required for many asset collections today.

(Heerbrugg, Switzerland,  8 May 2013) - The Leica GR25 GNSS Reference Server has now been enhanced with a standard on-board WLAN module to extend its Ethernet and mobile wireless internet connectivity options.  This is accompanied by the new RefWorx on-board firmware v3.00, adding unique internet connection sharing allowing other computers or network devices connected to Ethernet or WLAN to directly access the Internet through the GR10 or GR25 server’s new routing capability. The new flexible Site Monitor positioning modes and many other improvements are also included. These new capabilities together with other advanced communication interfaces, the integrated modular devices management, multi-user management and high end security means that currently only the GR25 provides a true GNSS Reference Server functionality.

WASHINGTON – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) today solicited proposals from state and local governments, eligible universities and other public entities to develop six unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) research and test sites around the country. Through the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, Congress directed the FAA to establish this program to conduct critical research into how best to safely integrate UAS systems into the national airspace over the next several years and what certification and navigation requirements will need to be established.

Performance and Innovation Awarded at EquipBaie Trade Fair in Paris

(Heerbrugg/Switzerland, 6 December 2012) –  The Leica 3D Disto won the Performance and Innovation Award at the recent EquipBaie trade fair in Paris. This revolutionary tool is able to measure, scan or project to any location in a room independent from a room’s geometry or around a building in three dimensions while visualizing and documenting the results immediately on a display.

The Leica 3D Disto defined the category of intelligent measurement tools for building information modeling (BIM) and layout at interior construction sites. The jury comprising of journalists and experts from the building sector selected ten winners from 72 new products and innovations presented in the Equipbaie and Metalexpo 2012 Innovations area.
