AutoCAD Civil 3D 911: Myth Busting, Proving That You Can Inverse Points In AutoCAD Civil 3D!

This is a response to several online discussions on this topic, and not a question from one person.

I’ve read many web discussions by land surveyors arguing whether AutoCAD Civil 3D is a good surveying tool or not. One example, or myth, that is often stated, is that AutoCAD Civil 3D can’t even inverse between points.

So, is this true? Can you inverse points using AutoCAD Civil 3D? Stay tuned, and I’ll answer that question after the jump.

AutoCAD Civil 3D 911: Where Did My Layout And Model Tabs Go?

Julie Asks: I’m fairly new to AutoCAD Civil 3D, as my company has just migrated to AutoCAD Civil 3D. We are now using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013.

I had the program’s interface setup the way I like, but one day something went wrong and when I re-opened AutoCAD Civil 3D some of the interface setup was missing. Most items I was able to easily get back in place, like where I put Draw commands, Object snaps, Transparent Commands, etc.

However, I cannot figure out how to get the display of the Layout and Model Tabs back in my drawings. I miss having these tabs and hope you can get them back for me. Help!
