AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 Update 2

Autodesk has released its AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 Update 2. This update may contain fixes for issues you have been experiencing and also contains all the fixes included in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 Update 1, AutoCAD 2009 Update 1, AutoCAD 2009 Update 2, and AutoCAD Map 3D 2009 Update 1.

The updates and fixes are too numerous to list here, but if you open the linked Read Me file, below, you can investigate the issues Autodesk has resolved with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009, that may have been causing you problems. As recommended by Autodesk, you should also read the Read Me file to understand the installation and use of this update. Autodesk strongly recommends that you read this entire document before you apply the update to your AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 product.

The two links, below, will take you to either the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 Update file for download or to the Read Me file, as noted. Please keep in mind that the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 Update is a very large file (c3d2009sp20.exe), at 82.956 MB.

I know there were problems with the above links and Update 2 disappeared into the nether world of the net, but the link for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 Update 2.1 should work for you.

    Hi Eric,

    Hope you are well.

I think you might find that is a dud link mate. I can’t find a SP2 for AC3D 2009 anywhere. The link you have posted directs me to a 404 error page.

Let me know if you find it elsewhere!

    Kind Regards,

    Darren

Thank you Darren for alerting me to the missing link. I will look into this and find the correct link. Although, the link did work when I wrote this post, I too, am not finding it on the Autodesk site.

If it helps, here is a link for AutoCAD 2009 Update 2, which doesn’t sound like it is for Civil 3D:

It’s me again. Just to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind I went through my emails, which I had received notice from Autodesk with the above links, and the links provided by Autodesk indeed, don’t work. My apologies.

I know there was a page there when I wrote this post. I would have to imagine that Autodesk is making some tweaks to the update and will republish a link and page, soon.

    I’ll keep you updated.

I hope this is the final update! At the end of the post I’ve added a link to AutoCAD Civil 3D Update 2.1, which I’ve downloaded and it worked.

Good luck and thanks for your patience.

    HI ERIC

    HOW ARE YOU?

I HAVE UPDATED MY AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D 2009 WITH THE UPDATE 2.1 FROM THE LINK YOU HAVE POSTED. WHEN I OPEN AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D 2009 IS THERE SOMEWHERE IN THE PROGRAM THAT SHOWS OR VERIFIED THAT THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN UPDATED TO VER 2.1

    REGARDS

    BARRY

    Barry,

Thank you for visiting my site and for your comment. I don’t always have an immediate answer for every question, but I’m always glad to look into anything to get an answer.

In this case I did know the answer, but it had been so long it took me a few minutes to find it. I’m glad you asked, though, because it brings up an important point about knowing what version, or service pack, your AutoCAD Civil 3D software has been updated to.

So to find out about your AutoCAD Civil 3D software do the following:

    1. Open your AutoCAD Civil 3D software (I hate obvious directions like this, but better off safe than sorry).
    2. Open the “HELP” menu and at the bottom select the “ABOUT AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D” menu option.
    3. This will open a screen and in the upper right hand corner of this screen select the link titled “PRODUCT INFORMATION“.

The screen that opens, I think, will answer your questions, Barry. The following information is available:

    • Product Name
    • Product Service Pack
    • License Type
    • License Behavior
    • License ID
    • Product Version
    • Product Serial Number
    • License Expiration Date
    • License Usage Type
    • Computer Host Name

    I hope this was helpful.

    Thanks and be brilliant!
