AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 New Network Dialogue Box Issues

A few weeks ago I loaded AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 and had problems when I tried to create a New Network in a survey database. The New Network Dialogue Box would open but I couldn’t enter anything. There simply wasn’t a space to enter a New Network Name.

The good folks at the Autodesk Support Team found the solution (quite simple if you understood what was happening). It appears a defect in the dialogue box forced the columns to the far right making the data entry part of the form inaccessible.

Where you are supposed to enter data, like the New Network Name, there should be a column under “Value” with red vertical lines on each side. Simply drag the column header line back and then separate the red lines and the input area, under “Value”, becomes available. Enter your network name, description and click OK. The next time you open the New Network Dialog box it should look like you left it, and all should be back to normal.

Thank you so much. I have been killing myself.
Where are you operating out of? I am in Florida

    John,

I am very glad that I was able to help you.

To answer your question, I own and operate a Professional Land Surveying company in Rhode Island.

This winter, when the wind blows and the snow falls, I’ll be thinking of you and Florida.

How are you managing your point database (or lack thereof)?
I need to have my points saved externally because the drawing I am using, keeps getting updated and I need to replace my current one.
How would you manage that situation?

    Regards
