"Data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed that the number of home loan approvals rose a seasonally adjusted 3.5% month-on-month in January, representing the fourth month of increase. Total loans issued were 55,628. First-time home buyers made 26.5% of the total home loans issued in January, the highest percentage since statistics began in 1991."
"The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand said the number of homes sold increased to a 12-month high of 5,228 in February from a record low of 3,706 in January. However, sales were still lower than the 6,356 new homes sold in February last year."
